Link Crew
Freshmen Orientation
Each fall, Link Crew Leaders kick off Freshmen Orientation with an energetic welcome for the incoming class. Students are funneled through a tunnel of high 5's being given out by Link Leaders and DCHS staff. After checking-in, they are greeted by Principal Meisch and both DCHS staff. The morning consists of team-building exercises, small group time, building tours, lunch, and Chromebook distribution. It is a busy and fun day for students to get to know their new school, make new friends, and get excited about their first day as high schoolers. Congrats, Link Leaders, and Welcome DCHS Freshmen!
Link Crew Leader Training
Link Leaders spend two days preparing for the Freshman Orientation kickoff day. The majority of each day focused on learning the "curriculum" they will be doing with the freshmen on orientation day. Time is dedicated to practicing team-building exercises in small groups as well as creating banners and posters welcoming incoming students. A big "shout out" to these Link Leaders for commitment to the project!
Link Crew - New to DCHS fall 2019!
Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that
More and more studies show that if students have a positive experience in their first year in high school, their chance for success increases dramatically. Link Crew provides the structure for freshmen to receive support and guidance from juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges that high school poses, and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.
